Free

Not our church, but a beautiful Episcopal chureh that we sometimes go to for events.

Requisite Beach Shot

Hey, I felt it watching sunset on my childhood beach with my sweetie. *grin*

Home

Florida is my home turf. Smells like it, feels like it. Even after 30 years away.

Georgia on My Mind

I love a good road trip, but with 2 adults and 2 almost-adults in a very tiny car it made for a long journey.  I was so glad to see the tall pines in Georgia.  Plus, I (really, really) like collecting all the maps and pamphlets at the rest stop.  I'm a little obsessive about my travel brochure collection!

Renascence

We've been walking in the park almost every day. I'm feeling both the loss of color and the gain of b&w. It causes me to see patterns and shapes and color and contrast. I think this is my favorite so far.

Marker

One morning in the park, almost three years ago, I asked Sandie to marry me. She said yes.

I carved our initials on a nearby bench where many others had left their mark.

It's nice to see that they are still there.

Connected

I went back on my color day to take more pictures of the fern. :)

Squirrel Zoo

There were so many squirrels in this yard, including two white squirrels -- a rare species, I imagine.

Sacrifice

Yesterday, at the park, was the first day that I *really* felt my Lenten sacrifice. The birds were chirping and everything was blooming and the sun was beaming. Oh how I wanted to capture the colorful glory.

But it felt good to take a deep breath and recognize that all was well and I would have that opportunity in due time; and most of all, to trust that everything was exactly as it should be.

Guest Photographer

These were taken by one of my photography clients. We were out shooting and her camera batteries ran out. I handed over my camera and she had to figure out how to adapt from an LCD screen to an actual viewfinder. :)

I think she's learned so much about composition and light in a few short weeks!
